My Story
Hi, I’m Charlotte Alexander founder of Nora’s Sweets and a firm believer in second chances, sweet grace, and God’s perfect timing.I was born and raised in Lafayette Louisiana. My love for baking started over 30 years ago, when I was pregnant with my first child. I can still remember being in the kitchen with my mom and older sister, flour dusting the counters, and laughter filling the air. Baking became my love language, a way to show care, bring comfort, and create memories. Years later, I opened my very first cake shop. It was a dream come true. But life took an unexpected turn when I went through a difficult divorce. I made the choice to close the bakery and devote my full attention to what mattered most: my children. I stayed rooted in my faith, faithfully attending Our Savior’s Church, and poured myself into creating a loving, Godly atmosphere for my family. Then in 2015, another storm came. I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. It was the hardest season of my life — one filled with tears, questions, and long nights. But even in the pain, I felt God’s steady presence. He kept whispering to my heart, “Trust Me, I am with you.” And so I did. Nine years later, I’m cancer-free and stronger than ever. And now, with a heart full of gratitude and a renewed sense of purpose, I’m stepping back into the vision God placed in me. Nora’s Sweets is more than just a bakery — it’s a place of healing, joy, and celebration. Every treat I make carries a piece of my journey and a lot of love. My hope is that when you taste one of our sweets, you feel the warmth, the hope, and the faith that brought this dream back to life. Thank you for being a part of this story with me. — Charlotte
